Deoleo’s owners, private equity firms CVC and Alchemy, have given three rival bidders until October 26, 2026 to submit binding offers for the company, the world’s largest branded olive oil bottler behind labels like Bertolli, Carbonell and Hojiblanca.

Three Bidders, Two Spanish and One Italian

Italy’s Coricelli currently leads with an offer of roughly €500 million, negotiated through its Seville-based holding company Farmers Elite Global, which already owns the Spanish brand Aceites Abasa. Spanish producer Acesur has countered with a bid near €500 million, while Spanish agricultural cooperative Dcoop — whose earlier €470 million offer had lapsed in September when CVC and Alchemy did not respond — remains in contention under the new deadline. Deoleo posted €20 million in net profit and €50 million in EBITDA in 2025, a turnaround that has sharpened interest from all three.

Spain’s Government Wants a Spanish Buyer

Spanish Agriculture Minister Luis Planas has publicly said Madrid favors keeping Deoleo under Spanish ownership, “within the framework of current legislation and in accordance with market conditions,” though the ministry stresses the sale remains a private transaction. For Tunisian olive oil exporters who sell bulk oil into large European bottlers to be blended and packaged under established brands, consolidation at the top of the branded market can shift who holds negotiating leverage: a single larger buyer can mean fewer, larger contracts, while new ownership can also open the door to renegotiated sourcing relationships as the new owner reshapes its supply chain.
